The “EOSC Core Architecture and Capabilities Report” provides an overview of the evolution of the EOSC Core, focusing on how its architecture and services have developed in response to requirements identified by WP7 and addressed through the work of WP8. The report documents key achievements, including the delivery of core capabilities as services, which enable scalable, interoperable access to EOSC functionalities, and the introduction of the Node Registry concept, a pivotal step in shifting from a Hub-and-Spoke model to a federated Mesh Architecture. This transition strengthens decentralisation, resilience, and long-term sustainability across the EOSC ecosystem. By outlining both the overall framework and its individual components, the report demonstrates how EOSC Core development is laying a robust, future-proof foundation for Open Science in Europe.
