Authors: Ouhsaine, Abdelati;

Abstract

This study, conducted between the beginning and end of 2021, examines the issue of the quality of healthcare services in public hospitals from a sociological perspective. It is based on an analysis of patients' opinions at Al-Razi Hospital in Marrakech regarding public healthcare services, in addition to a review of sociological literature, reports, and official statistics related to this sector in Morocco. A dual methodological approach (quantitative and qualitative) was employed using both surveys and observations. The study's findings indicate that despite noticeable progress in the field of public health in Morocco, there are still evident shortcomings, as highlighted by official statistics and reports concerning the health system. Therefore, improving the quality of public healthcare services remains a fundamental demand of society, especially in light of the steady increase in the number of patients, the emergence of new diseases, and the rising costs of treatment and living, which underscores the call for free healthcare. The study also found that the loss of trust in public healthcare services is reflected in patients' expressions of the deficiencies in the healthcare sector, as well as their negative perceptions of the quality of these services. Keywords: public health policies, quality of public healthcare services, therapeutic culture, disease, equal opportunities.
