Handling efficiently both wired and/or wirelessdevices in SDN networks is still an open issue.eHDDP allows the SDN control plane to discoverand manage hybrid topologies composed of both SDNand non-SDN devices with wired and/or wirelessinterfaces, thus opening a path for the integration ofIoT and SDN networks. eHDDP has been thoroughlyevaluated in different scenarios and exhibits goodscalability properties since the number of requiredmessages is proportional to the number of existinglinks in the network topology. Moreover, the obtaineddiscovery and processing times are small enough tosupport scenarios with low mobility devices since theyare in the range of hundreds of milliseconds
