La question de la structure en psychosomatique : 2. Mise en évidence du modèle canonique

Abstract

This article is the second in a series devoted to the search for a specific structure underlying psychosomatic phenomena. Based on the case of a person treated for Hodgkin's disease, it presents the hypothesis of a canonical form of structure, involving the subject's identification with one of their grandparents. The interpretation is based on the clinical observation of parentification phenomena, in which parents, reversing parental roles and the generational order of debts and rewards, expect a child to fulfil a parental role towards them in the family system, and thus typically to take the place of their own parents. From a psychoanalytic point of view, the subject exhausts themselves trying to satisfy an Oedipus complex that is not their own. From a systemic point of view, the reversal of generational transmission produces a double-bind paradox in the kinship system. Clinical observation also makes it possible to identify the tipping point of the Oedipal structure in the psychosomatic structure.
