Abstract

El ciclismo de montaña es un deporte exigente que requiere una condición física óptima. En el ámbito militar, la condición física es fundamental para realizar las tareas y misiones con eficiencia y eficacia. Sin embargo, el personal militar a menudo enfrenta desafíos para mantener una condición física adecuada debido a la naturaleza de su trabajo y a las limitaciones del tiempo y recurso. El objetivo principal de este estudio fue diseñar y evaluar un programa de entrenamiento de ciclismo de montaña para mejorar la condición física, la capacidad cardiovascular y la resistencia muscular del personal militar. El estudio se realizó a 30 militares que se sometieron a un programa de entrenamiento de ciclismo de montaña de 12 semanas, los cuales incluyeron trabajo de resistencia, fuerza aplicada y técnica, se evaluó el pre y post- test considerando el aspectos de suma importancia como: el tiempo hasta la fatiga un aumentó significativamente (+30.1%, *p* < 0.001); el VO₂ máx se evidencio una mejora en el 9.3%; la frecuencia cardiaca en reposo disminuyó (-9.7%) y la percepción de esfuerzo tuvo una reducción del 18.8%. De esta manera se deduce que el programa de entrenamiento de ciclismo de montaña es efectivo el cual ha logrado mejorar muchos aspectos de los militares en su condición física detallando las más importantes; aumentos en la capacidad cardiovascular y la resistencia muscular, mejoras en la velocidad y la eficiencia en el ciclismo de montaña, y reducción en el riesgo de lesiones y mejoras en la recuperación después del ejercicio.
