ABSTRACTAsthma is a long-term inflammatory airway disorder that can affect many people, and numerous studies have shown that its numbers as well as severity are also increasing. Several synthetic medications like cromolyn sodium, corticosteroids, leukotriene modifiers, methylxanthine derivatives, and long-acting β2-adrenoreceptor agonists are used to control asthmatic episodes. Mainly, the side effect-inducing factors of synthetic drugs contribute to developing a safer, potent and cost-effective drug to use judiciously for the asthma patients. There is a huge prevalence and scientific exploration of using herbal formulations as a potential remedy because herbs are an exemplary source of drugs, and herbal therapy is as ancient as mankind.
