This report is the result of a Generation Research project led by FixOurFood and in collaboration with the Food Standards Agency. The aim of the research was to investigate the current and future landscape of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven decision support tools within food systems, with particular focus on theirapplication to local and regional food networks. The report explores how AI technologies are being developed and deployed to address complex challenges in food procurement, safety, and supply chain management, examining whether these tools can effectively support the optimization of local food systems.
