Tarabau is not a conventional air freshener. Instead of masking odors with fragrance, it neutralizes them using a triple mechanism: alum binds, charcoal adsorbs, and salt inhibits bacteria, all enhanced by Makmal Izzah’s proprietary penetration technology. Observational results show rapid odor removal within seconds and long-lasting effects on fabrics, skin, and indoor air. Literature supports the deodorant role of alum and salt, as well as the adsorptive power of activated carbon for odor compounds. Tarabau represents a safe, natural, and culturally rooted alternative to synthetic sprays. While its core mechanisms are evidence-based, hypotheses regarding airborne molecule binding and deeper penetration remain areas for future research.
