This report describes a baseline evidence-base of researcher development activity in the UK and Australia, exploring universities’ strategy, policy, structures, resourcing and delivery of researcher development. This study has been conducted by Research Consulting and CRAC-Vitae, with fourteen participating institutions from the two countries. The study involved a survey and extensive and sustained engagement with the participating institutions through institutional feedback calls and good practice sharing workshops, providing a baseline for future dialogue on resource allocation, innovative strategies, effective evaluation, and the sharing of best practices.
