Abstract

Algunas normas de cálculo de engranajes, por ejemplo la ISO 6336-4, todavía no aplican a engranes endurecidos por temple por inducción, un tratamiento térmico cada vez más popular por su bajo consumo eléctrico y tiempo de proceso. Vista esa limitación, los autores han desarrollado una metodología analítico-numérica para la predicción de vida a fatiga, que considera mediante un enfoque local el estado tensional proveniente del 1) contacto entre engranes y 2) el temple. En particular, este trabajo presenta cómo realizar una modelización óptima por elementos finitos de una pareja de engranes, para extraer con precisión y bajo coste computacional el valor de los parámetros que gobiernan el fallo por fatiga. Para ilustrar los desarrollos se aborda el ejemplo práctico de un engranaje recto usado en laboratorio para caracterización.
