
Researchers have devoted considerable times and effort to ascertain the drivers ofentrepreneurial success. Entrepreneurship scholars believe that entrepreneurial success isdependent on a plethora of factors including prevailing economic conditions, business climateamong others. Entrepreneurship has been largely studied as generic term to reflect both men andwomen entrepreneurs with much emphasis on the men. This study, with particular emphasis onwomen in Ghana, focused on women entrepreneurs by exploring the factors that make themsuccessful entrepreneurs.This research employed a quantitative approach. Hypothesis were developed and tested todraw conclusion for the study. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher obtained data byadministering questionnaire to the respondents of the study. One hundred and fifty womenentrepreneurs were sampled for the study. The respondents were conveniently selected from theGreater Accra and the Ashanti Regions of Ghana which are the economically dominant regionsin Ghana. Literature was reviewed using data from journal articles, scholarly books, anddocuments. The questionnaire was administered through Google Forms. The researcheremployed Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) as a tool for the analysis of the primarydata.The analysis revealed that personality traits significantly impact the success of Ghanaianwomen entrepreneurs. The findings further showed that the competency of women entrepreneurssignificantly impacts their success. The study established that the availability of resources,including funding, to women entrepreneurs significantly influence the success of theirentrepreneurial ventures. The study recommended that Governmental and non-governmentalorganisations in Ghana should engage women entrepreneurs in seminars, workshops, andconferences to improve their competencies and performance. Women entrepreneurs in Ghanashould be supported with resources such as finance and equipment to grow their businesses. TheGovernment of Ghana should create enabling environment for women entrepreneurs to operatethrough tax waivers, tax holidays, provision of land, fast-tracking businesses registration, andimproving exchange rates.
