12 September 2025 at 11:00 am CEST for 60 minutes, including Q&A sessions with the participants. ABOUT THE TRAINING Duration: 60 minutes Contents: Data management in the context of ocean observing, examples from other large EU-funded projects. ETT will provide examples of best practices in data management for large projects such as OCEAN ICE, ObsSea4Clim and many others. The training includes an overview on the data management approach, as well as a practical demonstration on how to interact with data using Colab notebooks. Audience: Early career researchers and scientists working in oceanography, ocean observing, climate prediction, ESM climate modelling, data management, and the wider climate science scientific community. Your trainers Antonio Novellino: A Certified Computer Scientist and Engineer with expertise in FAIR data, decision support systems, and interoperability standards (OpenDAP, THREDDS, ERDDAP). Leads data management in EMODnet (Coordinator of Physics, WP leader in Ingestion, Task leader in Chemistry) and several EU marine data projects. Serves on the EMODnet Steering Committee, co-chairs the SOOS DMSC, and contributes to DOOS DMTT and OceanPrediction DCC. Full bio Beatrice Scotto: An early career researcher, with affiliations at both the University of Genoa and ETT S.p.A. Her doctoral project is titled Marine environmental data management and post-processing via ICT tools. Beatrice is actively engaged in various research projects that deal with marine data, including her recent involvement in EU initiatives such as ObsSea4Clim and OLAMUR. At the same time, she is researching in the field of simulating pollutant dispersion, with a current focus on oil spills in the Mediterranean Sea.
