Abstract

Dieser Blogbeitrag enstand im Rahmen der Übung „Methoden der Analyse: Das Super-8-Format – Mit Daten arbeiten, hinterfragen und analysieren“ (Wintersemester 2024/25, FB05 Filmwissenschaft, Master-Veranstaltung, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz). Im Mittelpunkt standen die Versandkataloge des Zwei-Mann-Unternehmens Piccolo-Film, das in den 1970er- und frühen 1980er-Jahren mit Super-8-Film-Kopien den deutschsprachigen (BRD)-Heimmarkt prägte. Begleitet wurde die Lehrveranstaltung durch wissenschaftliche Mitarbeitenden des Forschungsprojekt DiCi-Hub – Digital Cinema-Hub und eine methodische Vertiefung erfolgte im universitätsübergreifenden DiCi-Hub Data Sprint (06.–07.12.2024, JGU Mainz), an dem Studierende und Forschende aus Mainz, Marburg, Frankfurt und dem DiCi-Hub-Team teilnahmen. Dort kamen digitale Methoden der Datenaufbereitung, Anreicherung und Analyse zum Einsatz, um ein Gespür für die Formulierung und Reflexion medienarchäologischer Fragestellungen zu entwickeln.
