Infeksi E. coli dan Implikasinya terhadap Efektivitas Program Makan Bergizi Gratis

Abstract

Infeksi Escherichia coli (E. coli), khususnya strain patogen seperti EHEC dan EPEC, merupakan tantangan besar bagi keamanan pangan dalam program makan bergizi gratis. Patogen ini dapat mencemari makanan melalui praktik higienitas yang buruk, air tidak bersih, maupun distribusi massal yang tidak terkendali. Infeksi E. coli menimbulkan gejala diare, kram perut, hingga komplikasi serius seperti hemolitik uremik sindrom (HUS) pada anak-anak. Kondisi ini berpotensi menurunkan efektivitas program karena meningkatnya risiko sakit pada penerima manfaat, beban biaya kesehatan, serta berkurangnya kepercayaan publik terhadap program. Pencegahan melalui kontrol rantai pasok, edukasi penjamah makanan, serta pengawasan ketat mutu pangan menjadi kunci untuk menjamin keberlanjutan program makan bergizi gratis.
