AIMIP Phase 1 Forcing Dataset

Abstract

Contains a single netCDF file with the AIMIP forcing dataset at ERA5's native grid (0.25°), consisting of monthly-mean sea surface temperature and sea ice concentration from October 1978 to January 2025. There is an additional static variable for the land_sea_mask which contains the grid cell fraction (0,1) containing land. Note the time-varying variables are centered around the start of each month from ERA5 at 6-hourly resolution. Note version 1 of the dataset did not contain the necessary data to run the AIMIP protocal to the end of 2024, please use this version with January 1, 2025 forcing included.
