Abstract

Genus Aikahika gen. nov. Zoobank registration: htp://zoobank.org/ urn:lsid:zoobank. org:act: 46B6406F-77B7-444C-A486-1EA26AA8D2AC Type species: Aikahika veta gen. et sp. nov. Diagnosis: As for the type species. Etymology: Aikāhika is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘lasting for only a day’, referring to the short adult lifespan of mayflies.

Published as part of Sroka, Pavel, Agnihotri, Priya & Singh, Hukam, 2025, Te first record of mayflies (Ephemeroptera: Leptophlebiidae) from Cambay amber suggests a Gondwanan mayfly fauna in Early Eocene India in Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society 204 (3), DOI: 10.1093/zoolinnean/zlaf065
