The Evidence for the Minimum Ethics Code (MEC): A Compendium of Case Studies and Operational Demonstrations

Abstract

(EN) Abstract: This publication serves as the foundational evidence and practical demonstration for the main protocol presented in "The Minimum Ethics Code (MEC)" (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.16938364). While the main document details the solution – the "what" and "how" of the MEC operational governance protocol – this complementary record provides the crucial "why" and "how it works" components. This record contains two distinct but interconnected documents: The Necessity ("A map of real risks"): A compendium of over 100 (+3) documented, real-world AI failures. This collection moves beyond isolated incidents to reveal a systemic global pattern of deploying powerful technologies without adequate safety safeguards, establishing the urgent need for a framework like MEC. The Demonstration ("MEC in Action"): A practical simulation detailing the response of a MEC Level 3 - Gold certified AI to three critical, contemporary case studies. This document showcases the step-by-step application of MEC's multi-layered defense protocols, demonstrating how its architecture is designed to proactively prevent, not just react to, ethical and safety failures. Together, these materials provide the empirical and operational foundation for the MEC, transforming the dialogue from theoretical principles to an evidence-based, actionable, and verifiable standard for trustworthy AI.
