This record contains the report of our Workshop: Designing a sustainable study profile metadata portal, held on 22 July 2025. We hosted a collaborative workshop exploring how to build a sustainable, study-led metadata system to support dynamic sharing across discovery platforms. Participants from across the UK’s data infrastructure landscape joined the discussion, highlighting the importance of improving discoverability and interoperability for longitudinal population studies. The workshop highlighted the importance of clear access information, detailed wave-specific data, alignment with existing metadata standards, flexible design for both fixed and variable fields, and the potential of AI-powered tools to enhance data discovery.
