
Mohamad delivered an in-person presentation titled “Advancing Equitable Open Science: DataCite’s Role in Building a Global, Trusted Research Infrastructure” as part of a panel session, “Perspectives on Open Science: What Libraries Need to Know About Equitable Open Science, Multi-lingualism, and Open Infrastructure.” In his talk, he highlighted how persistent identifiers and open metadata strengthen research infrastructure, foster global collaboration, and advance equitable open science practices. The panel featured speakers from the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Nepal Library Association, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This session took place during the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) 89th World Library and Information Congress, held at the Congress Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 18–22 August 2025.
