HidroTools - Integrated Tools for Hydroclimatic Data Analysis v1.3

Abstract

HidroTools (Integrated Tools for Hydroclimatic Data Analysis) is a set of utilities for the analysis of hydrological and climate data. It performs analyses such as: descriptive statistics, validation (reference data with estimated data), climatological characterization, trend analysis in time series, calculation of extreme climate indices, and drought indices. The main objective of HidroTools is to act as a bridge between data and science, allowing users to gain insights from their data quickly and practically from a simple .csv file. The entire toolkit is available online at https://www.xhidro.com. The JavaScript applications (HTML + Javascript) for version 1.3 are also provided in this repository. The tools include: ClimaCalc: Climatological analysis and visualization of meteorological data; Mann-Kendall Trend Test: Analysis of trends in precipitation and temperature time series; Statistical Analysis and Validation: Performs data description and validation using statistical metrics; Climate Indices: Calculates extreme climate indices for precipitation and temperature time series; Drought Indices: Calculates indices and anomalies for the analysis of meteorological, agricultural, and hydrological droughts. Advanced Land Use and Land Cover Analysis: The tool performs detailed analyses of LULC class evolution and transition, and generates Sankey diagrams from MapBiomas raster data (Brazil) or other (regional/global) databases. Meteo-CQ: A tool for quality control of climatic time series. It detects gaps, outliers, and inconsistencies. HidroTools is available in version 1.3 and may therefore present some instabilities. New updates will be released in due course, with potential bug fixes and the addition of new tools. User guide in Portuguese and English is available.
