O USO DOS INFILTRANTES RESINOSOS NO TRATAMENTO ESTÉTICO DE DENTES COM HIPOMINERALIZAÇÃO MOLAR INCISIVO: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DE LITERATURA

Abstract

Introduction: Incisor-molar hypomineralization is a qualitative enamel defect that affects permanent first molars and is often associated with permanent incisors. Clinically, it manifests as well-defined opacities ranging in color from white to yellowish-brown. Hypomineralized enamel, in turn, represents a significant therapeutic challenge, as it presents structural fragility, compromised mechanical properties, and reduced adhesive capacity, which contributes to recurrent fracture of restorations. Given this, resin infiltration therapy emerges as a minimally invasive alternative based on the penetration of a low-viscosity TEGDMA-based resin into the body of the lesion by capillary forces, promoting the obliteration of porosity and preventing the progression of the lesion and, consequently, altering the aesthetic perception of the stain. Objective: The present study conducted a literature review to identify published scientific evidence on the association of resin infiltrates in the aesthetic treatment of anterior teeth affected by molar-incisor hypomineralization. Method: integrative literature review, which used the CoCoPop search strategy and selected seven studies for the construction of the bibliographic review of this study. Results: The studies demonstrated that the resin infiltration technique is effective in masking the appearance of hypomineralized lesions. Conclusion: The resin infiltration technique is an approach that has been gaining increasing relevance in dental practice, presenting good aesthetic and functional results. When compared to other traditional techniques, it stands out for its minimally invasive nature. However, there are still gaps in the scientific literature, so further studies are needed to establish a protocol and understand the long-term clinical effects of this promising treatment.
