Abstract

Cette revue propose un éclairage inédit sur l’origine géo-biologique du Shilajit et sa place dans diverses traditions médicinales. Contrairement à l’idée reçue selon laquelle il s’agirait d’un remède strictement ayurvédique et uniquement végétal, nous démontrons qu’il s’agit d’une substance complexe résultant de l’humification sur plusieurs millions d’années de matières végétales, animales et marines, ultérieurement enrichie en minéraux par des processus tectoniques ou magmatiques. L’analyse chimique met en évidence la présence de composés bioactifs novateurs (oléamide ASM3, dipeptide amide, éthers de glycérol), ouvrant de nouvelles perspectives thérapeutiques, en particulier dans la prévention des maladies neurodégénératives.
