Abstract

Este artículo tiene como objetivo comprender la falta de inversión en el desarrollo del ferrocarril en Brasil. La investigación se realizó a través de una revisión bibliográfica de artículos y documentos científicos de instituciones públicas y privadas. El transporte ferroviario tiene gran relevancia en la logística de una nación, siendo muy utilizado por países del primer mundo hasta el día de hoy. Este modo destaca por ser más económico respecto al transporte por carretera y aéreo. Así, este artículo exploró la historia del sector ferroviario en Brasil, desde sus orígenes hasta la actualidad, buscando evidencia sobre las razones por las cuales este sector no ha recibido inversiones significativas a lo largo del tiempo. Este tipo de transporte es relevante en la reducción de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, ya que su funcionamiento puede basarse en el uso de energía eléctrica. Los análisis indicaron que el sector ferroviario perdió protagonismo por la falta de inversión, tanto pública como privada. Se concluyó que, para promover el desarrollo de la infraestructura ferroviaria en Brasil, es esencial una acción gubernamental coordinada, con el apoyo del sector privado.

Este artigo tem como objetivo compreender a falta de investimento no desenvolvimento do modal ferroviário no Brasil. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica em artigos científicos e documentos de instituições públicas e privadas. O transporte ferroviário possui relevância na logística de uma nação, sendo amplamente utilizado por países de primeiro mundo até os dias atuais. Esse modal destaca-se por ser mais econômico em comparação aos transportes rodoviário e aeroviário. Assim, este artigo explorou o histórico do modal ferroviário no Brasil, desde sua origem até os dias atuais, buscando evidências sobre as razões pelas quais esse setor não recebeu investimentos significativos ao longo do tempo. Há relevância desse tipo de transporte na redução da emissão de gases de efeito estufa, já que sua operação pode ser baseada no uso de energia elétrica. As análises indicaram que o modal ferroviário perdeu protagonismo devido à falta de investimentos, tanto públicos quanto privados. Concluiu-se que, para promover o desenvolvimento da infraestrutura ferroviária no Brasil, é essencial uma ação coordenada do governo, com o apoio do setor privado.

This article aims to understand the lack of investment in the development of rail in Brazil. The research was carried out through a bibliographic review of scientific articles and documents from public and private institutions. Rail transport has great relevance in the logistics of a nation, being widely used by first world countries to this day. This mode stands out for being more economical compared to road and air transport. Thus, this article explored the history of the railway sector in Brazil, from its origins to the present day, seeking evidence on the reasons why this sector has not received significant investments over time. This type of transport is relevant in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as its operation can be based on the use of electrical energy. Analyzes indicated that the railway sector lost prominence due to the lack of investment, both public and private. It was concluded that, to promote the development of railway infrastructure in Brazil, coordinated government action is essential, with the support of the private sector.
