
The development of devices that combine sensing and communication is an area of growing interest in the research of systems for connectivity between autonomous vehicles. This paper experimentally implements this concept using commercial radars. By leveraging the resources of two radars designed exclusively for sensing, the radar signals are modulated in such a way that one radar can transmit encoded information about its own sensing data, while the other radar receives the information, which is then decoded and analysed. The communication performance is evaluated in terms of speed and bit error rate (BER).
