We present parsec scales observations in molecular-H2 and Halpha gas of the well known star forming ring in the nearby galaxy NGC 1097. The star forming ring is resolved in hundreds of young star clusters. For most of them, the Halpha emission and dust extinction and molecular H2 emission has been derived. Using these measurements, the Kennicutt-Schmidt trend is for the first time evaluated down to the smallest scale of coeval star formation, a cluster. The method and results will be presented.
