Sampling Frame and Sample Locations for MAS (farmland bird monitoring) in Flanders (Belgium)

Abstract

These datasets consolidate the sampling framework and sample locations used in the MAS (Meetnet Agrarische Soorten) farmland bird monitoring pilot project and the MBAG MAS project. The files were originally managed in two separate GitHub repositories (MAS pilot project and MBAG MAS) and are now brought together in this Zenodo record to support streamlined access, reproducibility, and integration into automated R workflows. This resource contains the following CSV files related to the sampling design and sample locations: Sampling Framework steekproefkader_mbag_piloot.csv (pilot study) steekproefkader_mbag_mas.csv (MBAG MAS) Stratum Weights by Agricultural Region Files named gewichten_XXX.csv, where XXX is the agricultural region Sample steekproef_mbag_piloot.csv (pilot study) steekproef_mbag_mas.csv (MBAG MAS) Final Sample After Manual Validation (locations that were actually surveyed) steekproefkader_avimap_mbag_piloot.csv (pilot study) steekproefkader_avimap_mbag_mas.csv (MBAG MAS) For more background and code used to generate these files, see: source/markdown/verzameling_steekproefkaders_mbag.Rmd in the MBAG MAS repository src/markdown/general/uitschrijven_steekproefkaders_mbag.Rmd in the MAS pilot repository GeoPackage (.gpkg) versions of these files are also provided.
