Aplicación de la responsabilidad de proteger en Venezuela

Abstract

El presente artículo científico tuvo como objetivo analizar la aplicabilidad de la responsabilidad de proteger a la situación de emergencia humanitaria compleja que atravesó Venezuela en el año 2019. Para darle respuesta se emplearon informes de la Secretaría General de las Naciones Unidas, la Organización de Estados Americanos, el Alto Comisionado de los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas, Organizaciones No Gubernamentales y estudios de teóricos como Bermeo (2018) y García (2018). La investigación fue sociojurídica, documental y el método empleado fue el de análisis y de síntesis. Se concluyó que la responsabilidad de proteger sí era aplicable en el caso Venezuela por la comisión de crímenes de lesa humanidad que ocasionaron la Emergencia señalada.
