EcoSim is an interactive computer program for null model analysis in community ecology. EcoSim allows you to test for community patterns with non-experimental data. EcoSim performs Monte Carlo randomizations to create "pseudo-communities" (Pianka 1986), then statistically compares the patterns in these randomized communities with those in the real data matrix. These null model tests have wide applicability in both applied and basic ecology. -- This is a legacy copy of the software for archival purposes.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 2 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
