The recommendations proposed in this policy brief are based on four years of interactions with local and regional decision-makers and other actors in the framework of the Arctic PASSION project. The project focuses on facilitating pan-Arctic data and observation systems, making Arctic data and research more accessible to users, and increasing their input into decision-making in the region. The ideas in this brief build on three policy briefs produced during the project timeline and have been partly developed and tested with local officials through two workshops in December 2024 and January 2025 (jointly with the Arctic Urban Regional Cooperation programme) and via interviews. Six broad sets of ideas for actions that were seen as the most feasible and generating the greatest support from engaged decision-makers and researchers have been selected.
