Poster presented at the 5th Mediterranean Plant Conservation Week (5MPCW), held in Limassol, Cyprus, from 7 to 11 April 2025. This event brought together over 170 participants from 27 countries under the theme "Building alliances for the conservation of plant diversity in the Mediterranean." The GIBAF and BioC-GReB groups from the University of Barcelona contributed two communications to highlight the role of university botanical research in conservation efforts and innovative teaching. This poster presents CromoCat, the Chromosome Database of the Vascular Flora of the Catalan Countries, an online repository comprising over 71,500 karyological records of more than 5,000 taxa (as of April 2025). The database serves as a valuable tool for plant conservation by providing chromosomal data for biodiversity assessment, prioritization of conservation actions, and integration in restoration and genetic monitoring strategies. It is accessible via http://cromo.cat and through the Catalan Biodiversity Data Bank (BDBC).
