Zwischen Memes und Mobbing. Zur Ambivalenz sprachlicher Gewalt im 'Drachengame'.

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag nimmt eine linguistische Perspektive auf das sogenannte Drachengame ein, ein internetkulturelles Phänomen rund um den umstrittenen deutschen Content Creator „Drachenlord“, der über Jahre hinweg Ziel teils organisierter Belästigungskampagnen war – sowohl online als auch im physischen Raum. Im Fokus steht die sprachliche Dynamik zwischen dem Akteur und seiner Kritikergemeinschaft, wobei insbesondere linguistische Merkmale wie Dialektimitation, memetische Kommunikation und gruppenspezifische Register untersucht werden. Der Text argumentiert, dass das Drachengame nicht pauschal als Cybermobbing zu fassen ist, sondern nur in bestimmten Teilgruppen ritualisierte Formen sprachlicher Gewalt ausbildet, wie sie etwa aus der Ethnomethodologie bekannt sind. Als internetkulturelles Meme hat es sich teilweise von der ursprünglichen Konfliktlage emanzipiert. Durch die Analyse konkreter Sprachhandlungen leistet der Beitrag einen Beitrag zur Diskussion über digitalisierte Statusdegradierung, subkulturelle Sprachpraktiken und die Rolle von Plattformarchitekturen bei der Konstruktion und Reproduktion digitaler Feindbilder.
