Abstract

The publication is part of the Artificial Intelligence for Youth Work (AI4YouthWork)project, a pioneering initiative under the Erasmus+ programme, co-funded by the European Union, dedicated to enhancing the youth sector across Europe through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). The project unites four organisations - Lascò from Italy, TEAM4Excellence from Romania, Kyttaro Enallaktikon Anazitiseon Neon from Greece, and Contextos from Portugal -, aspiring to contribute to increasing youth professionals' capacity to harness AI's potential to enhance the quality, attractiveness and effectiveness of their work, and prepare young people to thrive in AI-powered environments. This publication presents the Piloting Cycles Report for the Digital Catalogue of AI Learning Experiences for Youth Workers, developed within the AI4YouthWork project. The report details the piloting phase of a comprehensive set of Open Educational Resources (OERs) designed to support youth workers in understanding and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their professional practice. The piloting activities were carried out between May and June 2025 across multiple European countries and involved a diverse group of youth work professionals. The report outlines the methodology used, participant demographics, data collection tools, and key findings based on both quantitative and qualitative feedback. It evaluates the resources in terms of relevance, accessibility, usability, learning impact, and inclusivity. Key results demonstrate that the OERs were widely perceived as relevant, clear, and effective in increasing AI-related knowledge and skills among youth workers. The report also includes feedback on ethical considerations, cultural sensitivity, and confidence-building strategies for AI integration, especially among professionals with varying digital competencies. Recommendations are provided to further enhance the OERs, including support for peer learning, real-life applications, and continued user feedback. The report serves as a foundational reference for future iterations of the learning platform and offers valuable insights for organisations seeking to promote responsible and inclusive AI education within the youth sector. This document contributes to the AI4YouthWork project's broader goal of fostering digital upskilling, critical thinking, and ethical awareness among youth workers, ultimately supporting young people to navigate and shape AI-driven societies.
