Abstract

This is the material presented during the IEA Wind Task 52 Lunch Seminar Series 2025, which was held online between 30 June and 4 July 2025 (all days 13-14 CEST). The seminars were opened with an introduction by the Operating Agent - see presentation slides "a" - followed by these presentations: Day 1 - Topic: Standardisation of lidar measurements Peter Clive (Black & Veatch, UK) on "Wind Measurement: An Update on the IEC 61400-50 Series of Standards" (b) Andy Oldroyd (Oldbaum Services, UK) on "Extending pre-normative guidance on how to test and assess the accuracy of turbulence intensity (TI) obtained from floating lidars" (c) Day 2 - Topic: Lidar testing Annika Baltzer (Pavana, Germany) and Johannes Becker (GEO-NET, Germany) on "New insights on lidar measurement performance from 200-m met masts" (d) Maxime Thiébaut (France Energies Marines, France) on "Dual-lidar profilers for measuring atmospheric turbulence" (e) Day 3 - Topic: Lidar in a digital world Andy Clifton (enerlace, Germany) on "Wind Monitoring Made Easy – A Case Study in Digitalisation" (f) Stephen Holleran (brightwind, Ireland) on "Benefits of teh WRA Data Model for automation, a live demonstration" (g) Day 4 - Topic: Complex flows and terrain Andrew Black (Vaisala, France) on "NML-X-travaganza: Updates from the Nacelle-Mounted Lidar Complex Terrain Working Group" (no presentation uploaded yet) Stefano Letizia (NREL, USA) on "The largest collection of nacelle-mounted lidar observations: the AWAKEN dataset" (i) Day 5 - Topic: Focus on floating lidar Shogo Uchiyama (Kobe University, Japan) on "Empirical FLS TI Correction with Single Motion Parameter" (j) Warren Watson (Fraunhofer IWES, Germany) on "Evaluating the Impact of Motion Compensation on Turbulence Intensity Measurements from Continuous-Wave and Pulsed Floating Lidars" (k) Please note that each document or presentation may have its own license.
