Our records are all from G. hederacea. The larvae develop singly in hairy, upright, up to 4 mm long cylindrical galls on the upper side of the leaf. The gall eventually detaches from the leaf, leaving a circular hole. Pupation takes place in the gall or in the soil. Bi- or multivoltine. Distribution: Widespread in Europe including Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
