Análisis de la dinámica espacial y temporal de precipitaciones excepcionales en Portugal: Un enfoque innovador

Abstract

Resumen: Este estudio analiza la dinámica de las precipitaciones excepcionales en Portugal durante 42 años hidrológicos (del 1 de octubre de 1981 al 30 de septiembre de 2023) utilizando datos diarios del conjunto ERA5-Land, validados con registros del SNIRH y el IPMA. La validación se realizó comparando registros de estaciones hidrometeorológicas con datos de reanálisis de puntos de cuadrícula de ERA5-Land. La metodología incluyó el establecimiento de umbrales para precipitaciones excepcionales y la construcción de mapas de distribución de los cambios en estos eventos. Se definieron umbrales utilizando cuatro cuantiles superiores (Q95, Q99, Q99.5 y Q99.9) calculados para 1012 puntos de cuadrícula de ERA5-Land. El análisis exploró las variaciones espaciotemporales en las ocurrencias, la precipitación acumulada y la intensidad por encima de un umbral, proporcionando una comprensión detallada de los patrones de precipitaciones excepcionales en Portugal.
