This repository contains the data and analysis code supporting the commentary titled "Assessing the Consistency of Simultaneous Tripling of Nuclear and Renewable Energy Capacity in Korea: Evidence from the IPCC AR6 Scenarios."The study evaluates whether Korea’s recent energy policy—particularly its commitment to tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030 and nuclear capacity by 2050—is consistent with global decarbonization pathways, using 198 Korea-explicit scenarios from the IPCC AR6 Scenario Database. We compare national energy targets to Paris-compliant and non-compliant scenario trajectories for key technologies (coal, gas, nuclear, solar, wind), and assess the feasibility of meeting the Tripling of Nuclear and Renewable Energy (TNRE) pledge made at COP28. The dataset includes scenario selections, processing scripts, and national benchmark values used in the analysis. All materials are intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and further comparative research on national-global scenario alignment.
