
The DC4EU project commenced in April 2023 and will conclude in July 2025. Its primary objective is to implement the EU’s eIDAS trust framework within the education and social security sectors.DC4EU developed four use cases to test interoperability and scalability at both national and cross-border levels. These use cases included the issuance of educational credentials and professional qualifications in the education sector, as well as the issuance of the Portable Document A1 and the European Health Insurance Card in the social security sector.The project supported the cross-border, large-scale piloting of the European Digital Identity Wallet, in line with the EU Toolbox process.The consortium comprises 99 relevant institutions from 25 countries and is backed by public and private organisations, entities, and agencies, with significant and relevant expertise in the digital identity and Use-Case domains.
