Dynamic Advertisement Overlay (DAO): A Region-Aware Green Screen Framework for Personalized In-Frame Video Advertising

Abstract

This paper introduces a novel Dynamic Advertisement Overlay (DAO) system that allows content creators and platforms to insert region-specific product images into video frames using green-screen placeholders and IP-based geolocation. Unlike traditional video advertising methods—such as pre-roll ads, static product placements, or mid-roll interruptions—DAO enables real-time or pre-rendered visual personalization directly within the video content. We present a modular architecture that includes HSV-based green-screen detection, geolocation lookup, and dynamic image overlay rendering. The system is lightweight, scalable, and supports deployment across YouTube, OTT platforms, live streams, and social media reels. DAO enhances viewer relevance, expands monetization opportunities, and introduces a new paradigm for immersive, geographically adaptive video advertising.
