Abstract

El estudio utilizó trampas para huellas con distintos sustratos y cebos para identificar mamíferos en áreas verdes del campus de la UNAH-CU durante febrero y marzo de 2025. Se evaluaron lodo, arena rosada y arena tamizada, siendo esta última la más efectiva en número de huellas, aunque el lodo brindó mayor definición. El cebo más eficaz fue la pata de pollo. Se registraron principalmente zarigüeyas (Didelphis marsupialis y D. virginiana), seguidas por gatos domésticos (Felis catus), perros (Canis familiaris) y zorros grises (Urocyon cinereoargenteus). La actividad humana no tuvo un impacto significativo en la presencia de huellas. El monitoreo por huellas, complementado con cámaras trampa, demostró ser útil para estudiar fauna urbana y apoyar estrategias de conservación dentro del campus.
