Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la absorción y penetración de soluciones preservantes de ácido bórico y bórax a diferentes concentraciones (0%, 3%, 5% y 7%) en la madera de Calycophyllum spruceanum (cetico) y Cariniana sciadophylla (capirona) provenientes de Tingo María, Perú. Se emplearon 36 probetas (5 × 5 × 5 cm), previamente secadas en horno hasta peso constante. Las soluciones fueron aplicadas mediante el método de inmersión, cuantificándose la absorción en kg/m³ y evaluando cualitativamente la penetración con pruebas de colorimetría utilizando cúrcuma, ácido salicílico, etanol al 95% y ácido clorhídrico concentrado. Los resultados indican que el cetico presentó la mayor absorción a una concentración del 5% (10,59 kg/m³), mientras que la capirona lo hizo a 7% (9,02 kg/m³), sugiriendo una mayor permeabilidad del cetico. En cuanto a la penetración, el cetico mostró una coloración más uniforme (rojo pálido) a 3%, y la capirona evidenció una coloración rojo oscuro intenso en concentraciones del 3% y 5%. Se concluye que ambas especies responden de manera diferenciada a las concentraciones de sales de boro, siendo el cetico más apto para tratamientos preservantes por su mayor absorción y penetración.
