The Encryption Membrane Hypothesis: Concealment Frameworks for Cosmic Voids

The Encryption Membrane Hypothesis: Concealment Frameworks for Cosmic Voids

Abstract

The Encryption Membrane Hypothesis proposes that certain cosmic voids may not be purely natural phenomena but the result of deliberate engineering by advanced civilizations (Type IV on the Kardashev scale). These ultra-thin, artificially-constructed membranes act as galactic-scale firewalls and information scramblers, masking enclosed regions of spacetime from external observation and intrusion. This theoretical framework explores the structural composition, potential functions, and observational signatures of such membranes, suggesting they could explain anomalies in gravitational lensing and energy flows near cosmic voids. The paper also considers strategic motivations behind their construction, such as survival in a hostile universe (“Dark Forest” dynamics), resource containment, and large-scale experimentation. Detection of an encryption membrane would redefine humanity’s understanding of the universe and imply the presence of post-natural engineering on a cosmic scale.
