
This document describes the procedure used in the SQ-PhenoMaize crop model component to determine, the timing of maize developmental phases and the number of leaves on the stem. The model is integrated in the maize crop model SiriusQuality as an independent component. This component is developed in the public domain software framework BioMA (Biophysical Model Applications). BioMA is developed using Microsoft C# language in .Net framework (version 4.5). The component was coded using the development environment Microsoft Visual Studio 2013.
