This article analyzes the mechanism of formation of methane, the main component in the process of biogas production, and the factors affecting it. The biological, chemical, and technological parameters that affect the methane gas output efficiency are considered. In the current global energy crisis, methane-based biogas is of great importance as a renewable energy source. In this regard, the article also covers the issues of optimization of methane formation processes based on the analysis of foreign scientific research.
