This is an annonymized data repository for use during a double-blinded manuscript review. The data presented in this repository originates from a Q-methodology study concerning stakeholder viewpoints on the relative importance of a number of barriers in the value chains for Danish, German, Polish and Spanish food legumes. Between February and April 2024, 91 value chain stakeholders placed 28 statements on a fixed nine column, quasi normal grid (column heights: 2–2–3–4–6–4–3–2–2) following the prompt: “From my professional point of view, it constrains the value chain insignificantly/significantly that …”. The grid columns were labelled 1 (most insignificantly) to 9 (most significantly). This repository contains two datasets: Dataset 1: This dataset include one row per Q-sort/respondent (91 in total) yielding information about the nationality of the respondent, and the column allocation (1-9) of the 28 statements (s1-s28). Dataset 2: This dataset include the actual wording of the 28 statements. The statement numbers (s1-s28) correspond to those used in Dataset 1.
