Protocolo in vitro para la propagación de pitahaya

Abstract

Se evaluó un método de desinfección y germinación de las semillas in vitro de las cinco variedades de pitahaya,(Hylocereus guatemalensi, Hylocereus costaricensis, Hylocereus purpusii, Hylocereus undatus y Hylocereuspolirhuzu), los desinfectantes fueron Hipoclorito de sodio, Nanopartículas de plata, Etanol y Carbón activadocon 5 minutos como tiempo de inmersión de las semillas en todos los tratamientos. El medio de cultivo utilizadofue Murashige y Skoog (MS) al 50%. Los resultados de la desinfección mostraron que los tratamiento 1,2 y 3 lacontaminación fue del 100% y los tratamientos 4,5 y 6 que se les adiciono carbón activado disminuyo lacontaminación 70-100%. Cabe mencionar que las variedades no presentaron diferencias estadísticas en lagerminación, sin embargo Hylocereus costaricensis obtuvo el 92.7% de semillas germinadas. El cultivo in vitroes una alternativa para la germinación de semillas de pitahaya, obteniendo así un alto porcentaje de plántulaslibres de plagas y enfermedades
