We propose a mechanistic model of subjective time perception grounded in astrocyteneuron dynamics and bioenergetic thermodynamics. The theory synthesizes findingsfrom glutamate uptake delay, mitochondrial hysteresis, and cortical layer-specific activity. Subjective temporal windows (τs) are governed by metabolic state, particularlyATP dynamics within astrocytes. Our model partially accounts for Libet’s temporaldelay, ketosis-induced time dilation, and predicted shifts in glutamate concentrationunder astrocytic inhibition. All claims are linked to validated in vivo data and presented with testable, falsifiable predictions.contact at: jasongillatt2023@outlook.com
