Documentation of Academic Reception and Peer Review of "Mozart. The Fall of the Gods" by Luca Bianchini and Anna Trombetta, with supporting university and journal documentation (2017–2018)

Abstract

This dossier documents the academic reception of the books "Mozart. The Fall of the Gods" by Luca Bianchini and Anna Trombetta, including university courses, peer-reviewed reviews, and critical discussions in academic journals and lectures. This dossier includes supporting materials related to the two volumes of "Mozart. La caduta degli dei", published by Youcanprint, Tricase (LE), Italy. The PDF contains documentation of university courses and critical reviews that reference the books. In his 2017–2018 university course (Ca’ Foscari), Michele Girardi compared the research of Bianchini and Trombetta to the critical approaches of Fausto Torrefranca, highlighting the ongoing debates in musicology. Attached are:– A peer-reviewed review from Philomusica (University of Pavia).– Syllabus and references from the university course “Critica Musicale 2” (Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, 2017–2018), taught by Michele Girardi. All documents are provided for research, scholarly use and as evidence of academic debate surrounding the books. --- Publisher and Title Clarification Please note that some secondary sources, including reviews and academic articles (e.g., Michele Girardi in Philomusica), have reported incorrect publisher information and/or an incomplete title. The correct title is Mozart: La caduta degli dei (translated as Mozart: The Fall of the Gods in the English edition), in two volumes, published exclusively by Youcanprint, Tricase (LE), Italy. The English edition (Mozart: The Fall of the Gods) follows the same structure and content. Terms such as “Youcanprint Self-Publishing” or “Leipzig, Amazon Distribution” are not official publisher names. Youcanprint is the registered Italian publisher; “Leipzig” refers only to the Amazon printing facility used for certain international orders, not the publisher itself. Note: In some early references, the title appeared simply as “La caduta degli dei”, omitting “Mozart”. This is incomplete and potentially misleading. The correct and full title is always Mozart. La caduta degli dei. Although this has since been corrected in some sources, older references or citations may still use the incorrect title. For the record, we have officially notified the Philomusica editorial board about these inaccuracies.
