Figshare is an open access repository platform that serves individuals through free accounts and research institutions through software as a service. Over the past 13 years, Figshare has evolved from a platform primarily focused on research data to one serving the broader institutional repository use case. Figshare straddles the generalist repository and institutional repository spaces, and platform development reflects that. Each year, there are monthly platform updates that fall under that year's development themes which are chosen based on Figshare community feedback. In 2024, the themes were streamlining researcher experience and enhancing administrative workflows. In this presentation, we will demonstrate some of the recent features and how they lay the foundation for future development plans. We will show the brand-new search interface, a new administrator interface, the option to preview files but forbid file download, and the ability to upload folder hierarchies with file previews.
