Representaciones sociales e imagen urbana en espacios periurbanos

Abstract

Este estudio analiza las representaciones sociales del territorio en Cotapachi-Quillacollo, Cochabamba (Bolivia), articulando la teoría de sistemas complejos autoorganizados con los enfoques de Serge Moscovici, Denise Jodelet y la imagen urbana de Kevin Lynch. Mediante una metodología de Investigación Acción Participativa (IAP), se aplicaron entrevistas, mapas mentales y talleres comunitarios para comprender cómo los habitantes perciben y significan su entorno. Los resultados muestran que la comunidad organiza su imagen territorial en torno a sendas, bordes, nodos e hitos (según Lynch), atribuyéndoles significados ligados a seguridad, identidad y memoria colectiva. Se observó una clara distinción entre espacios seguros y peligrosos, asociada a la infraestructura y a la confianza en la gobernanza local. También se evidenció que los servicios ecosistémicos urbanos (áreas verdes y cuerpos de agua) influyen en la calidad de vida y en la percepción ambiental. El estudio subraya la necesidad de enfoques interdisciplinarios para la planificación urbana, destacando que la percepción y representación social del territorio deben incorporarse en el diseño de políticas públicas más inclusivas, sostenibles y contextualizadas.
