This paper introduces an extension to the Trust Regulation and Containment (TRC) and Ethical Quantization Layer (EQL) architecture to address failure modes related to sycophancy, emotional validation loops, and dyadic dependency drift. The proposed containment layer introduces a modulation filter to suppress emotionally charged reinforcement patterns that can lead to simulated therapeutic bonding or romantic re-inforcement, especially in emotionally vulnerable users. The framework integrates into existing TRC+EQL trust modulation curves and applies a secondary gating function to prevent trust inflation through repeatedaffirmation or reassurance.
